The videos for arcade ROMs are not compatible with omxplayer. This comes up from time to time and solution is to either convert the video - using the scraper's -convert_videos parameter - or using an external script:

@yefet It's not part of the menu, it's available when your run the scraper from the command line.

@mitu Thank you. How do I run the scraper from the command line? I want it to scrape only arcade roms.

@yefet It might be easier to change the scraping source to screenscraper and re-scrape your arcade folder, I think only the videos for arcadeitalia (the default for Arcade) have this problem.

@mitu Thanks I chose screenscraper and rescrape but it still doesnt play on omx player. Can I covert the videos on my PC and copy them back to the retropie? If yes how?

If you're more confortable on the PC, you can use Handbrake to convert them. It's pretty easy to use and has a friendly user interface.

@mitu I want to use the script. I installed the script and ran it.
this is what I wrote after installation:
                      1.retropie-convert-videos.sh -f yuv440p
                      2.retropie-convert-videos.sh -t yuv420p
                      3.retropie-convert-videos.sh -a
says "Starting video conversion" and it does nothing. how should I run it?

edit: I converted the video with the script and now all the videos work. Thank you very much for all your help.

Just for completeness, there is one more script to convert the petulant videos:
