Cannot get my zero delay controls to work on my newly built bartop HELP!!!!
-
Hi all.
I am new to all this and have built my bartop arcade using a raspberry pi 3 b+. It's all built and on initial switch on it all boots up okay and runs the cartoon at the beginning it then takes me to the main retropie menu with all the emulators and retroarch on. I have watched many YouTube videos on configuring controls and for some reason I just cannot get my zero delay controls and buttons to configure or the retropie/retroarch to even recognise there us anything plugged in. On some videos it shows on initial boot up a grey welcome emulation station box pops up to allow you to configure gamepads/controllers etc. My raspberry does not do this
It takes me straight to the emulators and retroarch screen. I have tried going into settings and configuration in retroarch and going into player 1/2 binds and this will only allow me to enter a keyboard button as when I try adding using the joystick or the buttons nothing happens. I have tried going into other options to try and make it work but nothing. It's now at a point where I would love to be playing my machine but I am out of things I can think of. My controls and buttons all work as I have tested them on my PC. It's probably an easy fix but it is frying my brain trying to suss it out. I bought all the parts on eBay for my build and the joystick and buttons are all connected to the circuit board and then into the pie via the Ian connection. The YouTube videos show that u just go into configuration-player 1 binds and the controls just work. Not so in mine though. Any help would be very much appreciated. Regards all -
If your setup is booting straight into EmulationStation, have you tried pressing start (whatever that key is on you keyboard) to get the EmulationStation startmenu and then chose Configure input?
If the controllers are detected and set up then RetroArch should also see the controllers (you will get a virtual controller called RetroPad in RetroArch) which have inherited the setup from EmulationStation.

It takes me straight to the emulators and retroarch screenThis sounds like you are not booting into a clean image from this site? How did you write the image? What is the name of the image?

LAN connection???
