"New" box for RS (Allied) Raspberry Pi 3 Model B?
-
Saw this just this week, wondering if RS changed the packaging for the Pi 3? Legit?
-
Whoa. So nobody owns or has seen any Pi 3s in this "new" packaging? FWIW I've only seen this being offered in Asia so far. I am really piqued now, is this a legit RS product?
-
Another pic of the unknown packaging for Pi 3. I gather from the zero responses to my question, noone has seen them or received a Pi3 in this box?
-
So far I have 2 pies, both from Element 14. So really can't answer you. Perhaps I can try RS if I need a 3rd one :)
-
Ha. Please do try one from RS if you decide on a third Pi 3, just very curious about this "new" box I'm seeing.
My friends have the e14 versions, and I have the Pi 3 from RS which is in a box with a similar design as the Pi 2. Green for the Pi 2 and a Purplish/Blue for the Pi 3.
So when I saw these new "box" designs I got curious, they're completely different.
-
Its legit, I have 1 sitting right here.
-
May I ask where you bought it from? Not specifically, just the region? Never seen this "new" packaging being offered anywhere else but Asia, hence the doubts.
I cannot imagine why RS would suddenly change their established packaging / colours / brand identity. Is the box and pcb marked "Made in UK" at all?
-
I got it from ThePiHut, its in the UK.
The Package has a Made in UK marking, cant say for the board as I have it in a case. -
Thanks for checking. Well, seeing as it came from the 'Hut in the UK it should be legit. Would have been fishy if all were to be found only in Asia.
