Hello, I need assistance in resizing loading images in EmulationStation. For whatever reason all my emu images are squished except N64’s they all look similar to this (https://imgur.com/a/9pGdG0s) how can I fix this? Thank you. Also I’m using Pi2Scart and on a CRT tv of that helps.

Please add more info about your setup as requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first. What resolution is set for your display ? How did you install the splash images ?

Dragged and dropped the .png files into the directories of emulators in config folders. Resolution is 240p. 4:3

What images ? Did you create them or downloaded them ?

Downloaded them simple .png loading screens to mask the grey launching option box. Even without the images the option box is pretty squished. I just need to know how to fix the issue I’ve been thinking with overscan settings and that does nothing.

Does each individual emulator file needs a config file in place?

The images may be squished because they might have been created for another resolution aspect (16:10 or 16:9) than your currently running resolution. Without any source of the pictures - that's just a guess.

I downloaded the Rookervik pack, its odd only the N64 loading image is not squished. Whenever I place other images in the N64’s directory it’s displayed correctly.

@Aaronero You'll have to modify the images - not just resize them - and crop them to be in the right resolution aspect for your resolution (4:3) and then copy the resulting image to your Pi.

Just crop image to the correct resolution and It's still squished is there a way to change the aspect ratio to the run command launch menu? Something about the n64 core that's not causing the images to be squished I do notice there's more files in the folder than the other emulators. I'm stomped at this point.

@Aaronero It's not the emulator that's showing the splash images, it's the Runcommand, so there's nothing that the N64 core (or emulator) is doing. Runcommand is using fbi to display the image on the RPI, but it's not doing any scaling by itself, it just tells fbi to try and zoom the image as best it can.
You didn't say anything about your system - as requested by https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first - so you may not even be using the latest RetroPie or there's some other configuration that might interefere with the image splash.
