Minecraft Pi Screen Size issues

I have sucessfully installed Minecraft in Ports, I have retro pi running on a 19" monitor and I am rotating the image 90 degrees because i have this installed in a cocktail arcade table. when Minecraft or Kodi comes up, it fills the screen and is in the correct orentation, however I am only seeing half of the screen, other games scale to the screen just fine, what am I missing?
