      Hi all,
      I'm thinking of doing a manual install on raspberry pi, so I can only install what I want to be on it and also as a learning curve.
      I've read the docs and all seems straight forward except for 1 part.
      At the bottom of the page it says Further Optimizations:
      Add consoleblank=0 to /boot/cmdline.txt
      But all that documentation seems to point at raspian Jessie.
      Since I'll be using raspian stretch, do I still need to do this or is there another way to achieve this optimization
      Thanks in advance
      Rob

        @robmcc83

        Add consoleblank=0 to /boot/cmdline.txt
        But all that documentation seems to point at raspian Jessie.

        The documentation says that

        There is also a gui option in RetroPie-Setup -> Configuration / Tools -> Raspbian Tools to disable the blanker, but it doesn't work in Jessie due to a Debian bug.

        This means that you can disable the automatic screen blanking via raspi-config, but it's bugged and the setting is not applied when using Debian Jessie.. So you can use either the cmdline.txt approach or the GUI option to get the same effect.

          Ok thank you for that.
          I just wasn't sure if the same bug was in stretch and that the documentation had not been updated, as the documentation also stated that bug before retropie moved to stretch in april.
          Thanks
