Retropie volume to low, how to change default volume
-
Hello, new to the retropie scene and I am having issues with my build. I built my first bar-top arcade and have started programming the pi. I got some games on the system and have managed to play a few, however I didn't have audio setup, I am now trying to figure out the audio for the arcade. I've gone through 3 sets of speakers and all have the same issue, they are all low at the default 77% volume.. If I go into the settings and change the audio to 100 it is plenty loud, however I don't want to have to manually adjust this every time I turn my arcade on.. Is there any way to set the default volume to 100% ?
My research brought me to this thread, so I tried it and no luck, the volume would be 100% until I restarted the arcade it always goes back to 77.

Turning the speakers,lights,pie etc.. on and off. I am currently using bose computer speakers that are powered by a 12v power supply. I am using the latest copy of retropie.

@deceased10 How are you shutting down? When I set the volume, it stays at that setting.
-
Power bar wired to a switch cuts off the power to everything.

@deceased10 You will corrupt your card. You cannot power off a Pi by cutting the power directly. You must perform a shutdown process. There is a shutdown process in the menu of Retropie. This may or may not be related to your problem. When you set the volume, did you click ok? or did you exit?

Oh hmm. How do i go about shutting it down?
-
@deceased10 While in Emulationstation, press
Start
and then use theQuit
menu to shutdown your system. -
Ok and how would i go about fixing my audio issue?

@deceased10 turn the volume to 100%. Use the menu to quit and shutdown. During that shutdown process it will save your settings.
