      Is there a way to see the version number of Retropie? I issued the update all via the menu, it showed it was downloading stuff, but then when I came back it was sitting at the menu again. I don't know if it did anything. I've found the commit hash but that's it.

        There is some info here:
        https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Updating-RetroPie

        The versions of RetroPie, i.e 3.8 are a snapshot of the project at that point in time (including binaries, scripts etc.).
        You can update the RetroPie script at any point though as shown in the link above.

        Please read the Docs before asking a new question.

          @Floob - Yeah. That's the site I used to do the update. I was just trying to find out if it worked since I walked away and didn't come back to any sort of "upgrade successful" message.

            @Jeck11 Isn't the script version shown at the top of the window in the setup script? You can see it in the first screenshot in the link Floob posted.

              @Charco - The script version is. I updated that as well right before I ran the other update. It's showing as:
              4.0-dev last commit 2 days ago (ac779db)

              I got a successful message after updating the script. I just didn't get anything after running the "Update all installed packages".

                @Jeck11

                They just bumped up the version of the script to 4.0-beta1

                Don't sweat it.
                When in doubt, take a BYTE out of life.

                  @Jeck11 if it ran successfully, you're updated. Version numbers mean nothing as every part of RetroPie is in constant development.
