Happy Saturday all! I am trying to get some MAME games to run, some I can get using MAME2003, but some none of the emulators work, the game launches then goes back to the game select screen.

Any tips on getting these ones to work?

There is an entire section in the docs dedicated to Mame/Arcade ROMs. Start from here. TL;DR - choose your emulator first and then find a complete ROM set for it, don't try individual ROMs - they most likely won't work.

          I was using this doc

I got Marvel Vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes (US 980123) which said it works for PI3 and MAME2003 but it still doesn't launch....

I'll take a look at your link

Your link is what I was working off.

What do you mean complete ROM set? Like every MAME2003 rom?

@esullivan Yes exactly that. Regarding your Capcom issue, its because you do not have the 0.78 version of that game and you are trying to launch it with the 0.78 emulator called lr-mame2003.

Is there a way to verify which version ROM I actually have?

@esullivan The ROM name is the same for all ROM sets (it's a MAME convention), the content is what is important and what is different between sets and emulator versions.
