What runs Viper Phase 1 (arcade)?
-
Anyone know of any emu/version that runs this Raiden-style shooter? The ROM name gets recognised in EmulationStation so I assume something does, but I've been through a whole bunch of MAMEs/AdvMAMEs/FinalBurns and I'm getting nowhere with it.
-
It might be possible to add Viper Phase 1 to mame2003-plus if you want to open a github issue to make the request.
-
@markwkidd Wouldn't have the slightest clue how.
-
@SpudsMcToole github is where mame2003-plus development is coordinated. If you register an account you can create a new "Issue" about Viper Phase 1 here: https://github.com/libretro/mame2003-plus-libretro/issues

MAME2010 runs it, and all the other seibuspi.cpp games, including the raiden fighters series (1, 2, jet), battle balls, a few mahjong games. They all have some sound issues, and to get them to run, you have to run the emulation thru the update process first.
-
@gomisensei Cheers. You weren't kidding about the sound issues. Ouch! :D
-
they seem to run better in advancemame... still need to do the update procedure the first time, tho
-
@gomisensei I've got three versions of AdvMAME installed - normal, 0.94 and 1.4 - and none of them will run it, just crash back to the ES menu. Which one are you running it on?

just the lastest base advmame, uses a different romset than the ones mame2010 uses, tho...
