I'm giving an old cab to a friend, and decided to update the RetroPie core before I gave it to him.

Well now my Hotkey-Start doesn't take me back to ES anymore. As soon as I press my hotkey, it opens the RetroArch GUI.

I have an image from a year ago, and even compared all my cfg files to that really old image. Sure, there are changes with new functionality, but nothing that sticks out as "open the RA GUI on HotKey".

I'm sure this is stupidly easily for someone to point me to the setting, but I just spent 4 hrs trying to figure out this one thing and could really just use some help.

BTW, I just updated another image that was only a few months old and the same thing happened.

So what and where is the setting to turn off the RA GUI call? My friend is not technical at all, so it will just confuse him. I need to give this to him plug and play.

      Thanks!!!

Did you remap your controllers after the update ? Did you select anything for the Hotkey button ?

@mitu nevermind, I finally decided to just delete all autoconfig and ES configs for the controllers, and rebuild them.

No idea what was wrong, as the CFG's were still all the same as before I upgraded my Retropie per Ultraedit File Compares... but there was something funky somewhere.

As glad as I am for you that your problem is solved, the nuclear way of solving it made sure that neither you nor we may learn what caused it.
