Hello very new to the raspberry pi and am lost as to how to remove and reinstall pixel desktop from my raspberry pi 3 model B running retropie 4.4 i believe. During my first install it was interrupted and now the destop will not launch from ports it just returns to ports section when i launch wit the startx command it trys to launch and says it cannot because there are files missing so i believe i need to reinstall but when i just try to install again it says its already installed

@kevthew You can install it again from the RetroPie-Setup menus, if it hasn't completed the installation will try to continue the installation and add the entry to the Ports system.

Exit Emulationstation and you'll be dropped to the command prompt. Execute

            sudo apt -y -f install

and see if the installation finishes.

@kevthew OK. so run the command it tells you to run (sudo dpkg --configure -a) and then again try installing the desktop from the RetroPie-Setup script.
