I managed to add my ds4 pad, then went on to enabled the dualshock3 driver package. I did setup the ds3 pad then without issue.

However now when I power on the ds4 pad the white light blinks a few times then shuts off.

I did this the other way round on the previous retropie build (both were 4.4) but that tie the ds4 pad (paired second) would not hold its pairing after i left the bluetooth menu.

So it seems both cannot be used at the same time.

Post is really to confirm that this is intended behaviour \ limitation of ds3 driver, or im possibly doing it wrong?

It would be nice to have both working, but i think im just going to settle on buying another ds3 for the kiddos.

@pplatinumss just buy a usb bluetooth adapter and you should have no issues using both.

@pimpmaul69 Or someone could just fix Retropie's Bluetooth since I heard Recalbox users not having any problems and everything essentially working far better when using Bluetooth controllers.

@pplatinumss When you install the PS3 bluetooth driver, it takes over the OS bluetooth stack and you can't connect other bluetooth devices. Remove the PS3 driver and install the customhidsonly driver, then try to pair both controllers. Remove any previously paired controller before doing this.

@mitu said in ds4 and ds3 pads together:

ok. That worked like a CHARM. MANY thanks

I removed dual shock 3 driver added the Sony hid one and paired the DS3. The DS4 pad was working from being previously paired.

                  Awesome
