Snes controller to play Xbox controller to exit the game

i have recently gotten my new USB Snes controller to play with (since the dpad on the Xbox one controller is really bad). i have both controllers connected to the pi with usb in the correct order (TO SEE ORDER; https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/14005/how-to-configure-a-second-controller-for-2-player-games). the controller works fine and all but after a gaming when i want to close the game i can not because only one of the controllers (working) and that is the USB controller that has no hot button so i can not close the game. the only way i can close the game is if i unplug the SNES controller and plug the Xbox controller in (player 1 port/ top left usb). I understand is has somehing to do with Nes SNES games and how the 2p works. So my question is. How can i easaly switch between the to controllers so i can play SNES, NES ect... with the SNES controller and use the XBOX controller to exit the game?
