I updated my Retropie to 4.4.4 and all of a sudden my splashscreens are not randomizing anymore. I have 6 MP4 files in the same folder they've always been in, I told Retropie to use that folder when I enabled the randomizer....yet only 1 video plays on boot.

      Anyone else have this happen?

@WishItWas1984 I did for awhile. Try deleting the mp4 files and reinstalling them. I found that after an update for whatever reason, the files had been corrupted. Fortunately, they we're the only files (that I've found.)

@ucald4amarine I think you had a problem with the screensaver, this is about the splashscreen video, that plays on boot.

@WishItWas1984 I noticed the same behavior with the splash screens (not video), after each update I have to reactivate the randomization.

Yeah, that's the weird thing. I reactivated it and it's still not randomizing.

Right now the system is deep into Skyscraper getting videos and such. Once it's done I'll FTP in and just delete and replace to see what happens.

Well, I solved the issue by just deleting the videos from the Pi and copying them back in from my PC. Gotta love easy solutions. Thanks for the help and those who suggested this.

I have noticed this also and it is very annoying. After updating the retropie setup script the randomizer is disabled and needs to be enabled after each update...
