      Re: Amiga emulator mouse pointer imprecise

      Hi,

      It's been over two years since I last posted about problems with mouse support on the ST emulator Hatari (non-libretro version); I posted this first when mentioning I'd created a detailed setup guide for Hatari, and also in response to the above referenced post regarding the Amiga, back in Sept 2016.

      I rebuilt my Pi 3 relatively recently, so it's running a clean, completely up to date install of RetroPie.

      Yesterday I finally got around to setting up Hatari again, but was disappointed to find the mouse control is still virtually unusable. In Hatari's own menu it's perfect, but on the ST desktop, or in any game (such as Dungeon Master) it's impossible to trace straight lines.

      There's no mouse settings in the emulator's GUI, nor are there any command line parameters according to:
      http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/precise/man1/hatari.1.html

      Does anybody have any insights into this?

      Whilst setting up Hatari again I also discovered that the config file, hatari.cfg, no longer auto-loads. I found a resolution to this, which I'll post separately.

      Many thanks in advance

        I have also this problem... Using latest RetroPie / Hatari , while in Hatari Menu AND Atari system, cursor jumps all over the place. Using external mouse (wired) or bluetooth touchpad.. same problem.

          @WilsonB Try adding

          usbhid.mousepoll=0

          to

          /boot/cmdline.txt

          Add it to the same line as everything else separated by one space. Dont modify anything else in that file or you can mess things up. This setting enforces a reasonable polling rate for the mouse. It helped take care of mouse lag I had in dos games. Might be worth giving it a try.

            @quicksilver said in Mouse precision problems in Atari ST (Hatari) and Amiga emulators:

            usbhid.mousepoll=0

            Thanks so much..I think that did the trick..(will update after a few days..)

            Last issue need to fix is when selecting Rom's now, it goes straight into Atari Desktop. It doesn't boot the actual disk anymore.
            Tried uninstalling a few times / reinstalling same.

              Update...
              Fixed it by changing default to hatari-use-hatai-cfg

              Sudo nano emulators.cfg
              default = "hatari-use-hatai-cfg"
