Pi Model or other hardware: 3B+
      Power Supply used: Original 2.5V
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.4.4
      Built From: Retropie website
Controller used: Xbox One Bluetooth & keyboard usb
      Error messages received: N/A
      Guide used: N/A
      File: N/A
      Emulator: All
      Attachment of config files: N/A

Hello there, so everything was fine until today, for a reason unknown everytime I start a game my controller stops working. I see the message on left corner saying the controller was detected but it doesn't work.

However if i turn the controller on and off it works again.

This goes for every emulator. And even with the keyboard

I search on this forums and tried deleting the config file of the controller, configuring the controller again, deleting retrorach config, etc etc.

Nothing seems to work, i have no idea what made this...last time o remember working the last thing i did was on mame pressing tab on the keyboard and configuring the insert coin in a controller button.

Please help, I really dont want to compile retropie again from 0 :(

@X_Splinter said in Controller only works on menu:

This can't be right, support for the 3B+ wasn't added until 4.4. Did you just copy another user's entry in the forum ?

Does this mean even the keyboard disconnects when you start a game ?

Ups, yep I copied and edited but forgot to change that value... It's 4.4.4

Yes, it does the same as the controller, If I disconnect and connect again it will work

@X_Splinter This looks like a power issue - starting a game would increase the power draw and possibly reset/disconnect your wireless chip and the USB ports. Are you sure you're using a proper power source ? Are you using a case ?

Yes, what an idiot I swaped the power supply and didnt even notice, now it's late I'll try tomorrow with official power supply.

I hope thats the issue, it got to be it's only the thing that changed... the same happens when I open retroarch, also the system only shows the pop-up that a controller was disconnected when I reconnect it which is strange

                  I'll confirm tomorrow. Thanks
