Latest Retropie version installed, Vice updated, first from binary and after that didn't change anything to the better, from source.
Still all other EMUs play sound via the headphone jack but Vice won't.
On the other hand, when connected via a HDMI display device which provides sound output, Vice plays sound.

Is this a general issue with Vice that it just doesn't output sound via the headphone jack (maybe somebody can try to reproduce this) and if not, what can I do in order to get this to work?

        Solved:
The reason was because somehow "Warp Mode" under Speed settings got activated.
After disabling it, the sound came back.
