change configure inputs auto hotkey assignment

Hey Guys I was wondering if there is a way to change the auto hotkey assignments when configuring new inputs? I end up each time i set up a new controlller having to go into the controller config file to change the button mappings for save states and such. I am looking for a file i can possibly edit to save me the hassle on all builds i make?
