Help with Mapping Sanwa Joystick with Daphne....

Hey Guys,
Anyone have a simple "how to" on this? Evidently this has been a big issue in the past with arcade joysticks not being recognized correctly or being inverted. Wanted to play Dragon's Lair on my arcade so I went through the whole setup now to find there are joystick issues with Daphne. Evidently mapping up down right and left is a nightmare. I read some things but was confused by all of them.
Any step by step help would be appreciated.
