How to save high scores in Linapple?

Whenever I attempt to save a high score while running a game in Linapple, it instructs me to "remove the write protect sticker from your diskette". Is there a setting somewhere to remove write protection? I checked the docs page and the linapple.conf but I couldnt find any reference to this.

Well I solved my problem. Found that somehow I had given ownership of the apple II ROMs to "root". I restored ownership to "pi" and high scores are working now.
