      Hi All,

I'm running Mam4All on a rpi1, I'm trying to get indiana jones and the temple of doom running. It appears to run correctly but I can't get it to insert a coin. Is this game broken. I am using the 0.37b5 roms.

Pi Model or other hardware: B+
      Power Supply used: 2.4amp
RetroPie Version Used 4.4 updated to latest
Built From: premade from RetroPie Site
USB Devices connected: Keyboard, Wifi, USB adapter for PS2
Controller used: Sony PS2 controller via USB adapter
Error messages received: none, game runs fine and responds to joystick input to say no coins inserted.
Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (if relevant): NA
      Guide used: NA
File: indytemp, indytem2, indytem3, indytem4 (all do the same thing
      Emulator: Mame4All
      Attachment of config files: NA
How to replicate the problem: Start game, hit 5 to coin up, nothing. CHecked config in Mame4All and 5 is the coin up button. Game responds to input and says insufficent funds or words to those effect.

      Thanks

@tjohnson A known issue with indytemp and its clones in mame4all-pi - please refer to the compatibility list.

If you are using the Pi 1B+, then I would suggest trying AdvanceMAME.

@dudleydes Thanks very useful, do you know where I can find other compatibility lists like this very useful and saves me time testing games, e.g. 720 has issues with the graphics dissappearing but may work in AdvanceMAME I guess?

@tjohnson You can find compatibility lists for each MAME emulator on this page: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/MAME/.

Please note that the information in these lists is not 100% accurate so you may find discrepancies.

@tjohnson I have the same issue. Same rom version. Was an alternate emulator adequate? If so what emulator did you use?

Alotta arcade games have a freeplay mode which can be turned on via the dip switches this game has one, it's worth trying it to bypass the need for coins
and maybe then you'll be able to play it in MAME4All.

                Here's how you do it..........

Turn on service mode via the dip options press player 1 start to navigate through the option pages, look for bonus adder press down to highlight it then left or right
to get the freeplay option, press player 1 start again so the setting is saved then turn off service mode in the dips and manually reset the game so the freeplay mode
is activated, you only need to do this once as it'll now always boot with freeplay on.

Best of luck to ya hope it works :)

Concerning AdvanceMame i can confirm that Indy as well as 720 do run great
Keep in mind that 720 is not really good playable because if the special Controller of the original cabinet.

There was change in the input type for 720, i always thought the older handling was better although as you say due to the special input type the arcade machines
had games like this one Road Runner and APB will always be troublesome to control in MAME.

0.85u1: Aaron Giles changed 720' controls to use an analog joystick instead of a dial so that the original controller motion can be replicated. Thanks to MAME Analog+ for the logic

Older cores like MAME2000 and MAME2003 etc etc will still use the previous control method as these builds are pre the above change.
