      Pi Model: Rasp 3
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.4
USB Devices connected: 2 player Xin-Mo Arcade

I have 4 buttons that I'd like to use as hot keys and shortcuts... 2 of them are on js0 (6,7) and 2 are on js1 (7,6). Is it possible to use all 4? Want to set up pause, reset, screenshot, etc. But it seems that I can't use the ones on js1 for this. Am I wrong?

@johnes In RetroArch, 2nd player cannot control the hotkeys, only P1 can.

So even in lr-mame2003, if each player has 6 buttons, and I have a 1P start/2P start/1P Coin/2P Coin... what can I do with the 4 extra buttons? Or rather, what do people use them for?

@johnes You can map then using the Mame internal OSD menu (pressing TAB) to MAME emulator actions, but not to RA's hotkeys.
