I’ve been trying to get Avengers in Galactic storm to run all day to no avail. I have a Basic image for raspberry pi. I’d like to know if anyone has got it running in retropie And if so which emulator and what settings.

Have you tried lr-fbalpha ? It seems supported, but you'll need the proper ROMset for it.
Are you sure you're using the correct ROMset for the arcade emulator ?

I’ve tried fbalpha yes ... also my romset is for .78 and I finally got something using the 2003 lr-mane core
... although it is unplayable. Color is all wrong audio is corrupt, it’s a mess. Perhaps wasn’t meant to be on retropie. I do have it working on my Mac of all places so there’s that.

You need a romset for fba if you want it to work. .78 is for mame2003 not fba.

@xcom97 In MAME 2003 Plus, I got a good average of 57.5FPS-58FPS (Full Speed) during gameplay (dropped down to 56.5FPS during a cutscene), with the only issue being the need to change the control type from digital and analog to digital-only so that I could use the d-pad (seems to be a new core-wide default setting problem after testing some other games I run in MAME 2003 Plus).

FBA ran close 60%-70% full speed, while MAME 2010 crashed outright on launch.

@MajorDangerNine Thanks, does MAME2003 Plus support the same ROMset? I'll try it in a bit also was there anything set / configured special during the launch? Resolution output maybe? Thanks again

@xcom97 mame2003 plus is like 90% the same romset as mame2003. Certainly worth testing with a .078 ROM before looking for other sets.

@xcom97 Like @quicksilver said, it is mostly the same ROM set, though learning how to use CLRMAMEPRO to verify and build/upgrade a MAME 2003 Plus from your current MAME 2003 set is the advised thing to do.

Nope. No changes before or during launching of the game, with the only change post launch in the RetroArch Quick Menu's Options changing digital and analog to digital-only.

And if you didn't know, MAME 2003 Plus is under Experimental Packages called lr-mame2003-plus.

                    Also, I should mention I'm on an overclocked RPi3B running a arm_freq=1350 and core_freq=550.

So, if you aren't on a RPi3B+ (that should perform as well if not better since I know the core_freq only has small effect on the emulation I'm doing), then the slowdown you'll encounter might be worse (I forget if Frameskip is available in MAME 2003 Plus like it is in FBA).
