There it's a new atari2600 core based on the upstream stella emulator (https://github.com/libretro/stella-new).
Is it possible to add it into retropie script?

@Lodan-Zark Have you tested it to see if it works ? It's WIP and there's only 2 commits and all code is in a single commit (Not sure why they left out source history of the upstream emulator). It may not even work yet.

The repository doesn't even produce a Libretro core, I think it's just a clone of the Stella (standalone) repository from https://github.com/stella-emu/stella. It seems the work for the core hasn't even started.

I couldn't make it work, since that fork it's hosted in the libretro repo I did assume it was functional core but probably it's a WIP fork...

It's the upstream stella, but I am not sure how to compile it as libretro core... so I do not know I it's compatible with arm architecture.
