Strange keyboard issue with LR-MAME2003-PLUS

Hello. I encounter a keyboard issue with lr-mame2003-plus, and I don't know how to look at ?

Pi Model or other hardware: Pi 3B
Power Supply used: genuine PI
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.4 fresh install
Built From: Pre made SD
USB Devices connected: none
Controller used: only keyboard
Error messages received: none

I perform a fresh install of retropie 4.4. I've only installed FBA, Mame2003 & Mame2003-plus.
I have only a keyboard, because my future joysticks are not yet ordered.

So, everything is fine, my keyboard works normally in ES, retropie-setup, Mame2003 & FBA.
But in Mame2003-plus, the arrows (left, right...) does not works. Buttons are working (a,b,x...), but not the directions.
I thought, as a LR-core, 2003-Plus use the same autoconfig ?
Do I have to configure retroarch specially for this emulator ?

change your options control mapping to digital mame2003-plus defaults to analog controls

Change following settings : mame2003-plus_analog = "digital"
works now....

I believe I'm experiencing the same issue. Which file do I edit to add that line?

Edit: the file is /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-core-options.cfg

Just a quick bit of advise this should be set in quick menu->options the option names can and do change there is no reason to edit any files
