Beetle psx emulator doesn't run games
-
Hi there,
after I was difficult to run some games in hd, I decided to reset to defult the settings of the core. The resut now is that now I am not able anymore to run any game. Can you gys help me with this?
-
@Tackskull How did you 'reset' the emulator ? Maybe you deleted some configuration file that was needed. Get a verbose log when starting a game (
/dev/shm/runcommand.log
) and upload it to pastebin.com. -
When playing I just opened the retroarch menu, I went o cofigurations and on "reset to default"
-
@Tackskull You reset the configuration to RetroArch (not RetroPie) defaults and the system path is unset:
[libretro ERROR] Firmware is missing: scph5501.bin
As such, your emulator is not able to find your BIOS file(s). If you want to reset the RetroArch configuration in RetroPie, copy the
retroarch.cfg.rp-dist
overretroarch.cfg
in the folder/opt/retropie/configs/all
. -
How can I do that exactly? I found the retroarch.cfg.rp-dist on the config/psx folder, what now? I have to copy the text on the retroarch.cnf file? Wich portion of text and where to pste it?
-
@Tackskull make a copy of retroarch.cfg.rp-dist and rename it retroarch.cfg so that it overwrites the current retroarch.cfg.
-
@Tackskull I thought it was pretty clear:
- Go to the
/opt/retropie/configs/all
folder. - Remove the
retroarch.cfg
file. - Copy the
retroarch.cfg.rp-dist
file toretroarch.cfg
.
Repeat the step for the
psx
system, as @quicksilver mentioned:- Go to the
/opt/retropie/configs/psx
folder. - Remove the
retroarch.cfg
file. - Copy the
retroarch.cfg.rp-dist
file toretroarch.cfg
. If you don't have theretroarch.cfg.rp-dist
file there, then remove theretroarch.cfg
file and re-install the PS1 emulator, it will add the file automatically.

Thanks @mitu this helped me out.
Somehow I had managed to also reset the config. Doh
