Git hub problem?

Hi all, a friend said to me he couldn't get his Dreamcast emulator to work so I said I'd have a go with mine, and I couldn't get it to work updating from source and said git problem, anyway somehow playing around it would no longer recognise any usb including my control so I thought I would reinstall retro pie and try again.

I've used retro pie 4.4 from the official website, and have even tried re downloading it.
It's a raspberry pi 3b +
64gb Samsung sd card
Xbox 360 control
Wireless keyboard

Upon installing it I went straight to retro config and got the following error:
error running 'git pull' - returned 1

And I thought maybe it was a problem when installing, so once again I formatted the SD card and got the same error. So I thought maybe that happened the first time I ever used the pi and continued, I connected it to my WiFi, and tried to update from source on some packages, it constantly has a problem, I know that worked before all of this.

Any ideas? Anything I've missed or should have done? Thank you

Can you post the complete logfile from $HOME/RetroPie-Setup/logs - every operation is logged there and timestamped, so you know which one to choose. Unpack the file (7Zip should be able to handle it) and upload it to pastebin.com.

Just to make sure - are you sure your internet connection is ok on the Pi ?

Hi, sorry for the long reply i didnt expect anyone to get back to me for a while!

So this is the initial log when i first opened retropie setup (this point i was not on the wifi):

i then connected it to wifi, and tried to update from source. I know the wifi was working as i always check it by logging in from my computer and copying bios or roms over.

when installing from source i got this in the log (warning its very big):

This is normal, you're not connected to the Wifi and the error is clear - you don't have internet access.

This doesn't have any error related to github.com - it's just pcsx-rearmed package failing to compile, the download of sources is ok. From what I've seen in other cases, you might don't have enough memory for the compilation to work.

@mitu okay I will try it again now, this is a fresh install in a compatible 64gb SD card. And I haven't installed anything else yet so there should be enough space, and I'm sure I expanded file size, but will try again now and let you know. Thank you for your help

this is you issue if you have overclocking on disable it

All of them failed! i have since checked file system with:
df -Bm

and it can see i have about 60gb available.

I think it would have removed the overclock when i reinstalled retropie but will check now thank you

@rmills55 Post your /boot/config.txt file to check for any overclock settings.

I was referring to the RAM allocated to the system, not the space on the card.
