      Hi all, I'm trying to play Codename: Tenka on my Raspberry Pi 3 using lr-pcsx-rearmed but this game first checks if there is more than one memory card inserted and plays only if memory card is only inserted in slot 1; on PSP and PC it's easy to overcome that but I can't find a solution in order to play Tenka on Pi 3, any suggestion? Thanks in advance!

      Pi Model or other hardware: Raspberry Pi 3
      Power Supply used: Power Supply bundled with Starter Kit
      RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.4.8
      Built From: SD Image on Retropie Website
      USB Devices connected: Dualshock 4, Keyboard Dingle
      Controller used: Dualshock 4
      Error message: Please remove memory card on slot 2 (in-game error)

        Please add more info about your system and the version of lr-pcsx-rearmed used, answer the questions in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

          I've edited OP with info on my system and error message returned when in-game ;)

            @Git Can you check your Core options (open the RGUI and go to options) and see if you have your 2nd Memory card enabled ? By default, it's not enabled in lr-pcsx_rearmed.

              @mitu I've checked my Core Options and yes, second Memory Card is disabled, I've tried to enable and disable again but nothing :|

                @Git Yes, I gave it a try also and it's not working - event with the 2nd mem card disabled from the option. I tried with Beetls-PSX and got the same problem, but that core has an option to handle the memory card itself (and the leaving it to the Libretro frontent) and it works only if I choose that option. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work for PI based systems, where lr-pcsx_rearmed is used.

                  I'd like to know if playing Tenka on a PS Classic would give me same issue...

                    @Git Looks like a fix has been commited for this issue, can you try and update from source and see if it makes a difference ?

                      I have discovered though tinkering, a fix for this issue.
                      You need to install the non lr version of rearmed, make it the default emulator for Tenka, then, using a keyboard, press “esc” and first configure - AND THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT a) ONLY SQUARE TRIANGLE CIRCLE AND CROSS the buttons as well as start, select, make L1 L1, make R1 L2 Bond the rest to L3 and R3 (the triggers WILL NOT BIND) DO NOT configure the directional movement keys, then save to global configuration under options. If you try to change the directional configuration, you will break the emulator! Then b) go to “Extra stuff” in the menu and switch mem card 2 to “None”, and save to global configuration under “Options”
                      Then under “Controls” go to emulator/ gun con configuration and c) make a hot key to replace the “Esc” button on your keyboard for one on your game pad, then save to global configuration in the options menu. Then exit. Now you have a hot key to get to the main emulator menu like in the lr version as you play and access to save and load state etc. If you want to play game in high resolution, wait till after you start a game then after you spawn in the main room, go back to emulator menu, bios, built in gpu options, and use the high resolution mode, but not the speed hack. If you use the speed hack, you will not see the game menu when you play pause as well as graphical issues, and if you save the configuration to high resolution and try to start the game it will crash. You can only switch to high resolution mode after the initial game has started. After that, it will play out without crashing, even after completing levels.
                      Hope you have fun, it took me a while to figure this out, but the game works 100% if you follow this tutorial.

                        @canuckskin does the fix @mitu mentioned not work properly? Lr-pcsxrearmed would be the preferable choice of emulator.

                          @quicksilver this fix doesn’t involve have to change any of the settings to your default lr core and clock to accommodate one game.

                            @canuckskin let's also not forget (though not supported) that this fix should also work on the ps classic since it uses the standalone pcsx core which OP asked about.

                              @Parabolaralus I spent a fair bit of my spare time working on any simple work around that didnt involve getting into the guts of the retroarch core. I tried to make my instructions for the stand alone result in a menu that’s just as convenient as the lr version.

                                @canuckskin my response may have been misunderstood.

                                Your fix using the standalone emulator should also work on the PS Classic which he asked about.
                                I appreciate the work you put into that workaround and would love to try it out on both, but do not have this game currently so I cannot.

                                  @Parabolaralus I think the OP was asking about the standalone core on the PS classic because he coulnt get it working on his pi. Its good to know there is more than one solution.

                                    It’s literally a 15 minute fix and the standalone for retropie works just as good as the lr version providing you bind your center gamepad button to be able to access the emulator menu.
