I have some issues with lr-mess and lr-mess 2016, both seems to not compile on my Pi3b+ (Retropie 4.4.8), i'm not sure if they do but both took eternity and lr-mess seems blocked after 5 hours of compiling.
I just need some info on those scripts and if can be used for Amstrad GX4000 and Neo Geo CD , eventually... there's positive feedbacks about right compiling of that scripts, or some fix to speed things? Thx in advance.

@DarishZone lr-mame2016 is not compilable right now due to an error that might be fixed upstream in the future. lr-mess compilation takes about 30h on a PI3, so you'll have to be patient.
I don't know about Amstrad GX4000, but you can play NeoGeo CD games with lr-fbalpha : copy your game data to the neogeo folder and use the Runcommand launch menu to choose lr-fbalpha-neocd as the emulator
