Xbox/Playstation Pad Configuration Problem
-
Hi,
I have two joypads connected by Bluetooth, an Xbox One 2016 and a PlayStation Dualshock 3. I can connect both pad sand Retropie detects both joypads (both can be configured) and both pads allow me to navigate the Retropie menus. However when I enter a game neither pad functions (no buttons respond).
If I boot the Pi and only connect/turn on the PS3 pad that joypad works fine.
Can anyone help?
Pi Model or other hardware: 3B+
Power Supply used: No power issues detected
RetroPie Version Used: 4.4
Built From: Retropie Image from this site.
USB Devices connected: None. Keyboard and/or mouse as needed
Controller used: Xbox One 2016 + PlayStation Dualshock 3 (both Bluetooth) -
@George-Spiggott So the PS3 controller works ok by itself, does the same happen for the Xbox controller ?
What emulator are you using ? Are you overclocking the Pi ?Power Supply used: No power issues detected
What's your power supply ?

Hi Mitu,
Yes the PS3 pad works fine. The Xbox controller does not work in games. I'm using LR-PSCX-rearmed. In Reicast both controllers work a bit, some buttons respond. (this may be due to Reicast's non-standard controls). I'll try some other emulators as well. My Pi is not overclocked in any way. Power supply comes directly from wall socket USB. I'm not getting any low power errors (lightning bolt).
I have also noticed that when I use the Retropie GUI the Xbox pad buttons have moved (Y instead of B to select an option) although the configuration file has not been modified as far as I can see.
Thanks

So, you are using a USB/Micro USB cable to power up the PI, directly from the USB wall socket ? Event if you don't get a lightning bolt, your power supply may be insufficient.
Yes the PS3 pad works fine.
Yes, but what I was actually asking is if the Xbox works - if used standalone.

Sorry no the Xbox pad does not work in games by itself (but works fine in retropie menus). It did before I installed the PS3 driver.
-
@George-Spiggott Which PS3 driver did you install -
sixaxis
orps3driver
? The PS3 driver will take over the Bluetooth connection and will not work in conjunction with other BT devices - so I'm wondering if this is not the cause of your problems. -
The latter.
Will uninstall and try sixaxis.

That worked, thanks. Xbox control is back to normal. I'm having a little trouble finding the sixaxis driver though.
-
@George-Spiggott It should be in the drivers' section, the same location as the
xpad
orps3controller
drivers. -
Found driver, installed it, connected pad. All good. Thanks @mitu
