Swap LCD controller board for LCD monitor
-
Good day, my name is Sindre and I am gathering parts for my arcade cabinet build. I have a Sony SDM-S95FR 19" 4:3 LCD screen without HDMI input. I understand converting HDMI to VGA is best avoided. I am therefore looking to replace the LCD controller board with one that supports HDMI. Has anyone any experience with this?
How to I find the correct LCD controller board (with HDMI) that fits a Sony SDM-S95FR 19" 4:3 lcd-display?
Best regards,
Sindre -

I don't know if this will work but I did a quick google search on the model number of your monitor and it came up with the following listing on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Controller-M-NT68676-M170ETN01-1-M170ETN01-3-M190ETN01-0/dp/B07JMHZSKL .
I have never used this controller or your monitor so I can't be sure if it will work but I have re-used several laptop screens by ordering controller boards from amazon and ebay and they have worked fine. Most of the controllers will work with several different screens. Check the listings carefully and maybe email the supplier. Good luck. -
Hello! You chose hard way to solve your problem. :) If i were you, i'd buy some monitor with HDMI ( some of them, maybe - https://www.bestadvisers.co.uk/computer-monitors ) and don't concern myself with such things. But if you want to do it by yourself i'd recommend you to check compatibylity of monitor to controller by writing to Sony support. I will search this info and will write soon.

Why not just use a DVI cable. I use this all of the time for old 4:3 monitors
