      Hello all,

I'm fully aware that UXS isn't a part of RetroPie. Mods or admins please delete this if not allowed. I just didn't know where else to turn for help with this frustrating issue. I'm at my wit's end...

      Pi 3B+
The 2.5a power supply that came in the cana kit
      Retropie v 4.4
Wii U pro controller connected via bluetooth, no other usb devices connected
Built From Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website

Universal XML Scraper. The error is...

      AutoIT Error

Line 26811 (File pathtoUniversal XML Scraper.exe')

Error: Subscript used on non-accessible variable.

      Here's everything I tried...
Running it from my Win 10 computer
Running it from my Win 10 laptop
Running it from a VM running Win 7
      Running the 32-bit version
Running the previous version of 2.2.0.2, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions

Identical results each time. Here's something crazy though...

a couple of nights ago, I had this site up. I was about to ask for help. I started UXS to recreate the error so I could type it here...and it worked. So, I thought it was over. But, I just moved my arcade roms over, I wanted to scrape them, but alas...my old friend the senseless confusing error showed up again.

Googling turns up nothing. Searching this site turns up nothing. I just can't make any headway here. Anyone have any ideas?

        @Amishgamer

Create a folder in My Documents to place the Universal_XML_Scraper.exe~ in if you already havent. You can probably migrate "ProfilsFiles" and the others to this folder as well.

Run UXS as administrator the first time to help it setup.

just tried it. Fresh folder under my documents, fresh download of installer, run as admin...same non-sensical, frustrating, angering error message.

            oh :(
try running the silent mode, and deleting the profiles/configurations

It says there is a non-accessible variable maybe it is just a setting for the roms folder/network share

I don't think it is required of the program but you could try installing autoit since I have it installed
            https://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit/downloads/
no, that very likely wont work, I don't know.

tried all that, still no change.

Good ideas all. Sure, installing autoit probably wasn't going to change anything, but, hey, it was an idea. And, nothing else is working...

The most frustrating part of the problem, other than the fact that I can't scrape, is no one else is reporting this problem. I've tried it on two real machines, one VM, and two OS's, so I'm having a difficult time accepting the problem is with me somewhere. But, no one else is speaking up.

How about it, UXS users? Are you having problems? Is it working for you? Are you even reading this post?

                I finally got it!!!

As a matter of self-defense, I run a pi-hole as my DNS server. Well, after reading another post referencing turning off the firewall, it gave me the idea to bypass my pi-hole. Once I did that, it was working as it should.

I know the author has abandoned this program, but I really wish he'd come back and put some better error messages in it. Line 26511 doesn't help me. "Hey, I can't get out" would have helped me a great deal and saved me a lot of time and aggravation
