On my system the Runcommand launch menu screen doesn't have the usual black line border. It's made up of letters.

In other words at the top of the box it displays 'qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq' and 'x's for the sides. It's letters all around.

I'm wondering if something is corrupted and I should try to correct this?

I tried to update the binary from Retropie-Setup and I think it ignored me probably because my version is already up to date.

My next step was to try removing the package and adding it back but I'm not sure if this is safe.

      Any suggestions appreciated.

@pianoman72 It's a bug in raspi-config - there were quite a few topics a few weeks back. Did you search the forum ? Here's one with a solution - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/21568/dialog-boxes-contain-x-s-and-q-s-instead-of-shading.

I didn't search for "dialog box" because I thought that was called the "launch menu."
