I was hoping to be able to assign keyboard controls to the TI/99 cartridge games, but I'm discovering Retroarch is not available for the TI/99 emulator: ti99sim.

Anyone know a workaround, or if ti99sim will eventually use Retroarch?

That's up to the emulator author to decide or another developer that can contribute the necessary code to the Libretro project. The RetroPie project bundles the emulators, but does not develop them.
