Best way to do 90degree screen rotate?
-
Hello all,
I would like to rotate my screen by 90 degrees.
I used display_rotate=1 and that works but it slows retropie down quite a bit.
Are there alternatives /fixes for this?
This is on a 3b+ with a gen1 iPad screen.
Thank you for any suggestions

@Gadgetguy RetroArch can rotate the screen through its video options. Emulationstation also has a
--screenrotate
command line option to accompany this. The only downside would be the Runcommand dialogs (and the RetroPie-setup screens) which will use the 'natural' orientation of the screen. For other emulators - I think
advmame
has adisplay_rotate
option - similar to RetroArch, don't know specifically for other emulators. -
Thank you Mitu. So using --screenrotate would affect both emulation station and all the emulators as well?
I will tweak the system now (audio etc.) while the command line is in the right orientation and then try to remove rotate from configt.txt and use the --screenrotate option instead

No, the
--screenrotate
is only for Emulationstation, for the emulators you'll have to configure the rotation on each emulator.
