i just bought a landzo screen and installed this driver

      git clone https://github.com/goodtft/LCD-show.git
      chmod -R 755 LCD-show
      cd LCD-show/
      sudo ./LCD5-show

each time i go into the terminal pressing f4 it turns into a login screen that i cant get out of

@aatheronb You installed something extra on your RetroPie - probably lightdm - which starts the graphical login interface. The script you ran is installing the desktop/XWindows graphical interface, which is not supported by RetroPie as default.

EDIT: disable the lightdm part with systemctl disable lightdm and reboot your system - see if the display gets powered and you get the text console login.

@aatheronb Login normally, the start raspi-config and follow the steps from https://retropie.org.uk/docs/FAQ/#why-emulationstation-doesnt-start-automatically-after-an-update.
