      Dear Retropie Users,

The issue that I am experiencing seems to be known to quite a few people. I have read through the forum, looked at youtube videos but everything is failing that I am trying to attempt.

I am also new to this. I did buy a raspberry pie from a supplier with a retropie pre-installed and a set of roms for various emulators (around 9.000 games pre-installed). In the beginning there was not an issue. That issue started when I had problems with the Retropie menu (with UI settings etc.) disappearing. I then updated the software (core packages update). What it finally fixed the issue was adapting the settings.cfg and changing a value for a string (UI settings) to "full" instead of "kiosk" mode. After that was fixed and after a reboot or two the problems started happening: Find below some info on specs and behaviour. I don't know what to do at this point. I've tried many things.

Here are the specs that I know:

Pi Model or other hardware: (B, B+, 2 B, 3, X86 PC etc..): Hardware: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B with Heatsinks and cooling fan, Sandisk 64gb Ultra MicroSD
Power Supply used: (If using a Pi) Power Adapter (100cm) (EU Plug)
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.4.12 (Last Commit 4 days ago)
Built From: (Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website, Berryboot, or on top of existing OS etc.. - please provide the filename of any image used): - I bought this one with pre-installed Retropie sofware https://thepixelgamer.com/product/pixelgamer-nes-edition/
USB Devices connected: USB receiver for Bluetooth Controller / Cable Controller
Controller used: Bluetooth Keyboard (Logitech), Logitech F310 Gamepad

Error messages received + How to replicate the problem
ERROR 1 - Happens when I for instance access the RaspiConfig / RetroPie SetUp in the SetUp Menu of Retropie ERROR - tried to write to log file before it was open. The following wont be logged. Could not parse Settings File - Error parsing XML File (n64,psx, snes)
      AccessofRaspieConfig.jpg

ERROR 2 - No Space left on device -
The following error happens when I am accessing any game. It cannot create a directory as there is no space left on device.
      Loadingagame_3.jpg

I have about 1GB of space left and already deleted more: Now up to 1,5GB out (on a 64GB SD Card). It is important to mention that there were about 9000 games preinstalled when I bought it. However I cannot imagine that I need more than 1GB to save a game or to save any settings. The settings file is empty by the way as I cannot save any new UI settings or so.
      MyDiskSpace.jpg

Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (if relevant): - Do not know how to
Guide used: (Mention if you followed a guide)

      • I tried expanding the file system and rebooted
      • I also tried to delete some games (I have 1,5GB of free space now - should be enough?)
      • I also uninstalled the Retropiemenu and installed it right after again, I accessed the RetroPie SetUp and updated the software (Core packages),
      • I did a basic install as well --> nothing has really worked

File: (File with issue - with FULL path) - not aware
Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable) - Emulators that are affected are: SNES, N64, PSX
Attachment of config files: (PLEASE USE PASTEBIN.COM FOR LARGE LOGS) - Do not have them or know how to get them at this point

@mitu thanks for letting me know. I was not aware of this. Hope at least me pointing out the distributor to you helps you to shut down the service.

@mitu Hi Mitu, i have the exact same problem as ChrisGravity.
The difference is that i downloaded retropie from the official website, installed the "retropie-4.5-rpi2_rpi3.img" file on a SD card, installed all the emulators from binary as well as some roms from different sites.
After backing up my fully working SD card with "win32diskimager" (win32diskimager-1.0.0-install.exe) i noticed a few days later some messages after starting the emulator that there is no space on device (even tho i should have at least 7GB of free space on it).

Even after restoring my IMAGE with Win32diskimager, the problem is still there.

I then formated the sd card and reinstalled retropie and all the ISO files. and after swapping the card arround for doing a fresh backup, it still started to act weird and telling me there is no free space on device BUT the emulations start without a problem and run stable.

I still have those "gamelist.xml" errors on the screen but the emulation starts still.

            What can i do?
