cps2 = fba2012I don't know what's the weirdest thing here : using different emulators for cps1 & cps2 ? or not using at all the most accurate emulator available on rpi3 for cps1/cps2 ?
Afaik, RP doesn't define specific folders for cps1 & cps2, fba is just the folder for fba-based emulators (pifba, fbalpha2012, fbneo), which are multi-arcade. -
@barbudreadmon There seems to be different solutions. For me I just created "systems" CPS1 and CPS2 as folders and setted them up like the arcade orginal system with a wide emulator selection. So a specific emulator matches for one folder.
Anyway:
You can use custom collections and create CPS1 and CPS2 collections, too ... IMHO that's the best way to "seperate" systems. Depending on your ROM-set the best and easiest way to go. You brought it to the point:I don't know what's the weirdest thing here : using different emulators for cps1 & cps2 ? or not using at all the most accurate emulator available on rpi3 for cps1/cps2 ?

Is all of the RetroPi so gatekeeping like the people on the raspberry forums? You askt a question and get "Look it up, its somewhere in the manuals" as answer?
I) got the same problem now..installed a fresh raspian lite on my PI5, installed retropi as per manual..now i want to copy the roms i got but dont know where to put the CPS1-3 games that i used previously on my handheld. I understand snes is SFC because famicom was the original..but how should a newbie know where to put arcade games when there is no folder that even gives a hint?
Thats why people come here..to learn and find out...just babblin your knowlege is not helping in the case..its just showing off "i know better than you".
How should anyone get into the retro scene or even thinking of preserving games when all help you get is "You should know that, you can google that..? thats why people come here.
Reading all many posts here, i still dont know how to get m,y CPS games to show up.. -

Please don't bump old topics. As to where to put the arcade games - the arcade folder, as you would have known if you'd have look in the documentation. And no, just pointing at the docs is not 'gatekeeping'.
