Quake III Team Arena - Official mission pack for Quake 3 RetroPie
-
If you ever wanted to add the official mission pack known as Team Arena to the Quake 3 source port that RetroPie offer, then now is your chance to do so. It is based on ioquake3 and the quake3 RetroPie scriptmodule. This port relies on SDL2 libs.
Download scriptmodule for RetroPie:
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/tpo1990/Q3teamarena-RPI/master/teamarena.sh -P $HOME/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/ports/
After downloading scriptmodule, go to the experimental section in RetroPie Setup to to find teamarena and install.
Install time: 10-15 minutes
In order to play:
Add the pak files (pak0.pk3, pak1.pk3, pak2.pk3 and pak3.pk3) from your Quake 3 Team Arena installation to /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/teamarena"Notes:
This build works just as great as the Quake3 RetroPie source port. The scriptmodule installs quake3 into its own separate teamarena folder with configured for teamarena to run. The quake3 folder will still be created in /roms/ports and will download the Quake3 demo pak files. The Quake3 demo pak files is not a problem in running Team Arena. If you want, you can still replace the demo pak files of Quake 3 with your own full Quake 3 installation. It is recommended to use the GOG version of Quake3 and Team Arena.Disclaimer:
This installation script is provided as is. Im not responsible for anything happening with your Raspberry Pi including corruption of SD card, Hardware damage. For support and help you can contact me here on RetroPie forums.Screenshots:

Where do I get the rest from?

@Brigane Sorry for not seeing your reply. Your Quake 3 Team Arena installation should contain these pak files.
- pak0.pk3
- pak1.pk3
- pak2.pk3
- pak3.pk3
I used the GOG version and that is what i got from the installation on my Windows PC.
Try reinstalling Quake 3 Team Arena again and see if you can find these pak files. All of them are required for ioquake3 to run the official mission pack. -
@tyrice What system are you using and what OS platform?
Can you be more specific on this?
Thank you.
