the collections folder how do i add one or more folder.

      /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/collections

i added extra extra.cfg and restart emulationstation and thats not showing up only 1up arcade titlesfolder showing up when i click it the game list shows up.

i want to add more folders inside the collections folder and then add my custom game list to it

      custom-fighting.cfg
      custom-extra.cfg
      it contains lines like

      /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/altbeast.zip
      /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/avsp.zip
      /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/baddudes.zip
      /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/batcir.zip
      /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/bloodbro.zip
      /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/captaven.zip
      /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/captcomm.zip
      /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/ddragon.zip
      /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/ddragon2.zip
      /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/ddragon3.zip
      /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/xmen.zip

basiclly i want to add my own when i go into collections folder i se 1up arcade folder,i want to add more folder inside of it with each game names. and then add the path to the roms on each .cfg

custom collections icon folder inside of it
        ARCADE1UP TITLES
when clicked i se a list of games like this

        /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/bloodbro.zip
        /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/captaven.zip
        /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/captcomm.zip
        /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/ddragon.zip
        /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba/ddragon2.zip

am not to worried about how to add the games list its in its own .cfg i checked,am more interested in how to add the following titles to this folder.
        FIGHTING
        SPORTS
        TENNIS

Have you tried using the Emulationstation menus to add your custom collections - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/EmulationStation/#custom-collections ?
If you create your collection custom-<xyaz>.cfg file, you also need to enable it to appear in view.

@mitu said in 1up arcade how to add more folder to collections folder:

So kindly correct me if i understood this options right.
custom collections allows us to add more folders and paste in the path of the roms rather then uploading duplicated roms that will take up space?.
yes i understand you can make specific genre for each game but can i save space by using roms path.

@ian02293 Custom collection are not 'folders' per-se, but can display like a separate 'system' (which is what you call a 'folder'). They just group existing games, so they don't take any extra space.

How do i set video for each folder

Do you mean a video or are you referrring to the image associated with the collection ? It depends on the theme - usually you create an image with the name of the collection in a certain path, but that's up to the theme. What theme are you using ?

@ian02293 I'm not familiar with the theme - if it supports collections or not, you'll have to ask the theme author or just try adding your collections to see if the theme already has images for them.
