      @DeadxRinger This is not an error - it's exactly what it says: your system is too old (probably based on the 4.3 or previous image of RetroPie) and it's no longer supported by the newest RetroPie-Setup script.

        @mitu thanks! What can I do to access my settings? It was working perfectly fine before I tried to update.

            @DeadxRinger You'll need to revert to a back-up or update to a newer version of retropie.

              @mitu said in Retropie error message from menu (emulation station):

              referring

              Audio, Bluetooth, configuration, etc.

              All the settings options in the first picture from the retropie menu show that message.

              I can't access any of them.

                @DeadxRinger Use an ftp program like winSCP to remote access your pi and back up all your files that way

                  Although Jessie is no longer supported, you are supposed to be able to access settings (with a warning dialog). A recent change broke this which I have reverted. However, Jessie has been unsupported for over a year so it's definitely worth upgrading.

                    @quicksilver thanks for the help!

                    I don't know what a winscp is. I've just opened up windows file explorers and accessed the pi through WiFi and drag and dropped in the past.

                    Is there a way to update the pi remotely from a computer without losing everything?

                      @BuZz is there a way for @DeadxRinger to update his retropie setup-script from the terminal? Seeing as he can no longer access retropie-setup the traditional way.

                        @quicksilver @DeadxRinger Run, from the terminal, after exiting Emulationstation,

                        cd $HOME/RetroPie-Setup
                        git pull

                        and it should get the latest - and corrected - version.
