      So I started this tutorial

a while ago and I just got the last part that I need and I plugged it all in and everything seemed to be going dandy, but it said that there was “no Gamepads Detected.” I was confused at first, but now I’m just flabbergasted. I’ve found a whole bunch of different answers online and I just need to know which is the right one and how to do it.

The message means exactly that - that Emulationstation cannot detect a gamepad/controller connected to your system. You can check by exiting Emulationstation and running

        jstest /dev/input/js0

If there's an error, then no controller is detected by the underlying operating system (Linux).
Did you install and configure the gamecon driver (http://blug00.blogspot.com/2016/03/how-i-got-the-gamecon-driver-to-work-on-retropie.html) needed to make the controller work ?

Same here with RPi 3 B+ and NESPI kit. The game controllers worked fine at first but after a few days I get the same message ("No Gamepads Detected"). I once disconnected all cables and let it sit for a bit and then it magically worked again for a couple of hours. But now same issue again. FYI I didn't have to do any extra configuration to get it working in the first place.

@mitu No, not yet but if I have any questions I’m what to do or how to set it up I’ll make sure to ask
