Hey, I am new to retropie, my friend made me an image with a few roms to get started and now I want to add some of my own.
I have read the instructions about updating and adding via USB but one thing troubles me, once I have created my retropie USB, plugged it into the pi to create the folders, plugged it back into my PC and dragged them to the relevant emulator folders, surely when I refresh emulation station I will lose the previous roms and will only have access to my newly added ones? (I. E. Do I need to have all roms on my USB, as some I don't have on the pc)

Can someone advise as I don't want to add new roms if I will lose the old ones.

The auto-USB copy function has historically only copied NEW files from USB to Pi. It would go through the files on the USB stick and copy over anything that wasn't already on the Pi. You don't lose anything on the pi.
