I wanna use the left analog access for moving and the right analog axis for shooting in robotron. The right analog axis works fine but when I try to configure the left analog access in mame it doesn't register. Everytjing waz fine when i configured the controller in emustation. I have a retro pi4.4 rasberry pi3. Using a 3rd party 6axis ps3 controller.

@tigerzblud Use the LR-MAME2003 emulator, load up your game, press SELECT+X to access the Retroarch menu, go to Controls, below the first option (from memory the Gamepad type), and you can assign the D-pad to the left analogue stick. Save the game controller config and the press SELECT+X to go back into the game.

@tigerzblud no, because you are using a controller that has the bottom of the 4 main buttons marked as X. In emulationstation X is the top of the 4 buttons.

@tigerzblud See https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/#default-core-controls-for-all-emulators and pick the controller that resembles yours the most to see how RetroArch "sees" the buttons of your controler regardless of their labelling.
