Hi, first of all i'd like to introduce myself I'm Dani from Spain and I recently bought a Raspberry pi 4 I'm always doing a lot of DIY projects like flight simulators or virtual pinballs. Now i'd like to use raspberry to improve some of my projects and also to use as retro emulator :)

I'm experiencing some strange issue with retropie and the PSX emulation. Games work really well in RPi4 and retropie, but after seven or eight minutes, the screen turns off, and the raspberry freezes. Only happens with 3d games, I'd suppose the problem can be temperatures, but I have a really big dissipator aluminum case with 2 fans attached to it. When it happens, the only led turned on is in solid red. I have try in both HDMI and the result is the same. I'm using the official charger for RPi4.

I'm using "Sony PlayStation SCPH-7502 BIOS v4.1 (1997-12-16)(Sony)(EU)" bios and the latest retropie.

Also, i'm using the raspbian version of retropie (not the raspbian system image, the raspbian application).

Can be a wrong configuration? or maybe is more a hardware issue?

      Thanks!

RetroPie does not have a PI4 compatible version yet, it's not supported. You'll have to wait until a compatible version is released and try again to see if this problem occurs.

@mitu Thanks, I know is still in developement but I asked if it could be a known error in other versions...

EDITED: I could resolve the problem, it was not anything related to the compatibility with pi4, just some raspbian configurations. All games work perfectly now. Pi4 is a lot better to emulate psx than pi3. Such a big difference!

Hey my dude, I'm experiencing the same issue with my other emulators. I'm also running it on a pi4. how did you get it resolved? Did you have any issues with the screen resolution and pi4?

@h4ckerv2 I tested some things at the same time but I thing all the things together solved the issue:
-Change the psx bios to another of another website
-Disable the screensaver in all places (rpi and retropie), in rpi you will need to install first a screensaver and disable it after.
