lr-mame2003-plus tab key not working

I searched the forums for a solution and tried deleting my default.cfg as suggested for lr-mame2003, but it didnt work for the plus emulator. Essentially, if I choose this emulator, the tab key doesnt work to get into the mame menu. Can someone else try? Tab works fine for lr-mame2003 and 2010. Im on the latest build.

change your input interface to keyboard or simultaneous in the options its retropad by default
