Hello xml image resize help please

I am setting up a circuit sword cm3 game boy with the 16:9 retrorama theme. The whole theme is squished into a 4:3 size. When I launch a game the launching.png looks great letterboxed on top and bottom of the screen. Retropie resizes the launching images while maintaining aspect ratio. How can I edit the <size 1 1 size> line into a full screen with bars. I’m really mainly interested in the system select background artwork. I know Phil doodles is back and making a 4:3 version of his theme but it will be a few till he completes it and I’ll be happy

Any theme gurus know what I should paste in the theme xml so the pic stays 16:9 without being stretched or cropped like the 1st picture?
