Can you disable the menu key in lr-atari800?

I was quite excited to discover lr-atari800 recently (I didn't even know it existed), because there was no way to get screenshots in the non-Retroarch version and it was annoying to have to use a keyboard to start a game.
Unfortunately, if you use the Atari Keyboard option which enables the Start and Select buttons, the R key dumps you straight into the Atari menu when you try to hit R+X to get into the Retroarch menu, so all you can ever get a screenshot of is the Atari menu page.
Is there a way to disable it?
