      Hello,
I have installed retropie on top of my linux distro, but it seems the file autostart.sh isn't created. And not even called in the command lines. I managed to get retropie to boot at start up, but I'd like to boot in attract mode instead. I couldn't find anything on that, so this is my last resort.

      Thanks for your time,
      Valentin.

There is no autostart.sh when RetroPie is installed on a PC.

Instead, the front-end is started via the normal XDG autostart mechanism - a .desktop file in $HOME/.config/autostart/.
If you want to start another front-end, then remove the retropie.desktop from said folder and add your own file to start the other front-end (Attract-Mode).

@mitu, thanks for answering so quickly. But there is nothing in this folder, and I thought maybe there was a way to add an entry in the existing "autoboot" option in the retropie-setup --> configuration menu. Because this parts works perfectly.

@BicheTortue said in Where is Autostart.sh?:

But there is nothing in this folder,

If you didn't choose to start Emulationstation from Configuration -> autostart, there would be nothing there. As I said, you'll need to add a new .desktop file there to auto-start what you want.

Also, please add more info about your system, as requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

@mitu Thanks a lot, it worked like a charm. I'm about to be done with my arcade cabinet!
